Quote Currency

Quote Currency is the latter currency in a currency pair. It is used to indicate the value of the currency in front of it, which is the base currency. for example USD/JPY, The USD is Base Currency and the JPY is Quote Currency.


In the foreign exchange market (Forex), every currency pair has two currencies compared to each other. by front currency It is used as a reference currency in trading. Every time we press Buy or Sell, it means, we are looking at the front currency will either strengthen or weaken in the future, but the price we buy or sell. It comes from using the quote currency to indicate the value of the currency in front. and come out as a number of the value of that currency pair.

In other words, Buy position is buying a base currency and selling a quote currency. On the other hand, if we sell, we are selling a base Currency and buying a quote Currency.
