GLOSSARY

Point

Point is the smallest measure of the exchange rate of every pair traded, also known as Fractional Pips or pipettes.

Point is a smaller unit of measure than Pip, 10 Points = 1 Pip. Point counts to the last decimal point of the price.

For example, AUD/USD = 0.77083. When the price moves to 0.77089, we would say the price has moved up 6 points. or USD/JPY = 105.568 When the price moves to 105.569, we say the price is up 1 point.

Generally, investors around the world use pips to communicate, but Thai traders prefer to communicate moving units of price in points.

Generally, investors around the world use pips to communicate. But it depends on each country whether it’s popular to communicate with PIP or Point.
